Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 7, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Zingo Ringo uses cookies and similar technologies (including local storage) when you visit zingoringo.com or play a session.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism we use to keep player identity on the device so reconnects work seamlessly during a quiz race.
2. How we use them
Strictly necessary.
- Authentication sessions for creators (magic link, OAuth).
- Player identity in local storage (key
zingo-current-player) so a disconnected player can rejoin a session at any time while it is still running. - Security tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery.
Functional.
- UI preferences such as theme and recently used filters.
Analytics.
- Aggregated usage measurement so we can improve features and performance. Analytics is privacy-preserving and does not identify individual players.
3. Third parties
Some cookies and storage entries are set by service providers who help us run the Service (for example authentication, payments, hosting, analytics). These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
4. Your choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage from settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and break player reconnect flows.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the product.
